Submission of a paper implies acceptance of the following conditions:
(1) the paper reports unpublished work;
(2) the paper is not being submitted to any other journal;
(3) you are fully authorised to submit the material for publication;
(4) if accepted, the paper will not be republished without the consent of the publishers.
A copy of the license to publish can be found in the ‘Instructions & Forms’ section of the author centre on the submissions website (see below for link). You will be asked to check a box agreeing to the terms during the submission process.
Papers should be submitted as Word or rtf files using the ScholarOne Manuscripts submissions website here
Papers should be written in English, in nonsexist, nonracist language.
Please think very carefully when writing your title so that it contains the keywords that readers would use when searching for papers on the same topic. Describe your work fully in the abstract, reiterating key phrases (the abstract should not be repeated in the first paragraph). We also ask that you provide up to 5 keywords for your paper.
Papers should be double-spaced with 12-point font size. They should be no longer than 7500 words (excluding references; double-spaced text, size 12 Roman font), and the abstract should be of no more than 150 words.
A separate title page should be submitted. This will be detached during the refereeing stage to maintain the anonymity of the author. If the first author is not the contact author, this should be clearly indicated. Identifying information should not be included in PDF files.
Papers should be formatted as per the style guidelines provided below, and particular attention should be paid to the style of references and accepted figure formats. The editor's decision is final, and acceptance of a paper for publication implies assignment of copyright to Pion Ltd.
All papers will be copyedited in accordance with the house style of Pion Ltd. Spelling is subject to Webster's Collegiate Dictionary.
If mathematics feature in the manuscript, care should be taken that they are formatted as per our mathematics style.
Upon acceptance, papers will be copyedited, typeset, and proofread, after which proofs will be sent to the contact author.
Upon publication of the paper, the main author will receive a pdf of the published version and a copy of the issue in which the paper appears.
